Our second interview on May 8 was with Sharon Capehart on her Power Up radio show. Lots of blogging power yesterday! Sharon has a lot of energy and enthusiasm as you'll hear when you listen to the interview. Again, this is a call-in show and we got a lot of great questions from the audience.
Feel free to post your comments and questions by clicking on the comment link below.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of being interviewed twice on Internet radio programs. The first was on Lorraine Cohen's Powerfull Living Radio. Naturally, we talked business blogging. Since listeners can call in with their questions, this isn't our standard interview.
For your listening pleasure, here's the audio from the show:

P.S. If you listen to the interview, you'll hear an announcement for a brand new report on business blogging that we haven't officially released yet. Be the first on your block!
Chris Garrett of the blog ChrisG.com was one of the featured speakers at SOBCon08 this past weekend in Chicago. Chris and Darren Rowse of Problogger.net fame, have just had their new blogging book published (officially today, May 5) and I grabbed Chris for a quick interview and asked him to reveal some of his secrets for making a blog a success.
Your blog has to connect with people so make sure your passion is evident. And, about everything you write, ask yourself: so what?
Problogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income is now shipping from Amazon.com. I read half the book on my flight home from Chicago. It's an easy read and full of practical advice and information from how to decide on a blog platform (of course they recommend Wordpress) to making it really clear that you will not make a 6 figure income overnight from blogging.
But, if you want to get there, you must really work it and follow some standard practices related to design, outreach, and of course create valuable content that connects with your audience. It can be done. Darren Rowse and many others are proof of that.
I recommend the book if you're just starting out or have been blogging from some time. You'll learn something new, I guarantee it.
One great thing about having a strong Internet presence is getting to meet creative entrepreneurs you wouldn't run into locally. Recently I read an interview on GuruKnowledge.com, a great site with a ton of resources about Internet marketing. I reached out to the owner, Dale King, who asked to interview The Blog Squad.
He asked some intriguing questions like what one piece of advice we'd give to newcomers to the Web, what books we recommend, and who were the people who had a profound influence on us. All good stuff that made us think! You can read about it here, and be sure to visit the site for articles on Internet marketing.
RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 14 AT 3 P.M. ET (12 PM PT)
NOTE: Due to technical difficulties on BlogTalkRadio, this interview is being rescheduled. Stay tuned.
On Thursday, January 10 at 12:00 p.m. ET (9:00 a.m. PT) we're guests on Internet radio show Let's Talk Blogging.
Host Antonio Crawford, CEO of Top Book Sales, Inc. will be interviewing me and Patsi about blogging. Surprise!
Let's Talk Blogging is streamed over BlogTalkRadio
and the focus of the show is on blogging for authors and that's what
we'll be addressing, specifically how authors can use a blog to write
and market their books. Join us live for the interview on Thursday.
Unfortunately, Andy perpetuates some of the commonly held myths about blogs. I just hate it when this happens. Here Andy Beal is an Internet expert: I'm sure many viewers assume what he says is the whole truth.
It's not that he lied - he told part of the story and omitted some important details that could cost new bloggers time, money and frustration. [See comments...]
The myths, as Andy proclaims them:
Blogging platforms are free - for example Blogger.com. Because it's owned by Google, it's search engine friendly.
The truth: (as Patsi proclaims it:) a) Just because something is free doesn't mean it's good and doesn't mean it's good for your business... Your business deserves a better blogging platform than Blogger provides. b) All blogs are search engine friendly, and Blogger isn't more search engine friendly than another.
It's amazing how many blog consultants there are! I guess it makes sense to run into them all at a blogging convention. We met John Gaudio of A Better Blogsite and got this perspective on BlogWorld and blogging.
Deborah Micek, aka Coach Deb, runs blogi360.com. It was a pleasure to meet Deb, first at the BlogWorld opening night party at the Hard Rock, and then again at the Expo the next day. Deb is a business blogger and blog consultant and has some great advice for you...
