This is an excellent article and I couldn't agree with you more. I think that making quality content available to your audience is very effective and the long term gains and benefits for those that follow your suggestions are unmeasurable. Jim Cockrum wrote something similar to this concept in his book Free Marketing. Very good book by the way and I recommend it to anyone looking for innovative ways to market yourself or your business. Thanks for this valuable read.

This is one of the best explanations I've seen for why a "bricks and mortar" business should be blogging. Great job, Linda.

Thanks for your kind words, Elizabeth! I'm glad you enjoyed the article.

The people who understand this principle are those who will succeed in the future. And even if you don't plan on using social media for your business, you should probably get started now, so that when you do realize how important it is you won't have such a steep learning curve.

Linda, I think this is very constructive advice. There is no doubt that those bloggers who give away free good quality information are those I trust the most and the ones I am most likely to personally recommend! I also believe what goes around comes around so it is important to give for free in order to receive rewards later!

Linda Dessau

Thanks for your comment, Zoe. I also believe that people who give are rewarded in many ways.
