In a nutshell, what success did you have as a result of your blog/social media?

Due to Facebook activity from early January of this year my website hits have increased from less than 280 monthly to a record high for July of almost 1900.

What was the obstacle that you were facing in your business?

After a successful run in 2004/2005 I was forced to rethink graphic design as a business. Although I remained in business, other life issues forced me to take an extended break. After the break, other than family and close friends, no one knew EWP was still open for business.

What did you find as a result of using a blog/social media?

Blogging and social media provide a platform for anyone wishing to do anything. All one needs is one idea from which to grow. Social Media has increased my confidence and validated my belief in the hidden power of me through self discovery via my blog.

What specific feature do you like most blogging/social media?

As a solo business owner Twitter allows me to share random biz thoughts with little judgement. I treat Facebook as if it were the Cover of MY newspaper and I use my blog as the JUMP.

What other benefits did you experience from blogging/social media?

In June I joined a private/niche Facebook community of creative business owners (mostly women) where I have found some cyber support.

Is there anything you’d like to add?

Yes, after attending a family reunion & attempting to sell an e-book I have realized the importance of staying connected to the non internet world with regular old mail. Although, a print newsletter was part of the plan. I let it slip to the bottom of the list. This was a BIG mistake. It's about balance.
