When I'm at conferences and workshops I like to get quick tips from people I meet and know about how they're marketing online. At the recent Niche Affiliate Marketing System workshop (NAMS4), I asked a few folks to share their favorite tip for driving traffic to their blog or website.
Here are 8 tips for driving traffic to your blog or website, featuring in order of appearence: Jeff Herring, Chris Cobb, Kurt Scholle, Karon Thackston, Dan Morris, Ellen Britt, Raphael Sanchez, and Kathleen Gage.

I drive the majority of the traffic to my blogs through keyword optimization and SEO. Each of my post titles uses a keyword phrase people are actually searching for, and I use the 'All in One SEO' plug-in for each post as well. I have found this to be a better long-term strategy than relying on social media alone.

Great tips and yes, they all work :)
My favorite way to drive traffic to my blog i s to rank for long tail keywords. I find keyphrase that's 3 words or longer that's relatively easy to rank for. I then use it in my blog post title and once or twice in the content.
Often this type of simple on-page seo is enough to get me ranking, if not, I build a few links to that page.

Well done. I like all the tips!
I embed a link to my blog in all email confirmation reminders to my patients.

SEO is long term and it may go into failure mode at times.
Increasing referral traffic works for the long term well and good ! becoz your site gets constant stream of traffic as long as the other referral site gets traffic !
SEO is complex esp in high demanding/competitive niche's
