On our 5 Traps of Internet Marketing teleclass yesterday, almost 1000 people registered and we got some interesting questions. You can listen to the audio replay here. Here's one:
"I have a website that was created about 3 years ago. Of course, it just exists and does not provide any lead for my accounting business. I want to attract leads for my business from small business owners for their accounting and tax work. How can I move forward in a professional way but inexpensively?" Aslam in Toronto
This something we hear all the time, from professionals in all sorts of niches. They spend money getting a nice website up on the web...and wait for something to happen. Leads aren't going to happen unless you put some bait on the fish hook, Aslam.
What do your small business owners want to know about their accounting and tax problems? I'll bet plenty! Figure out their biggest pain points and create content that relieves their pain.
Oh, did I mention that the best way to do this is on a blog?
Blogging about your clients' problems will get you found. It's like a juicy worm to fish. After that it's up to you to use your blog content to persuasively let them know how they can get further help with you through your services.
A business blog is part of the basic infrastructure needed to market your products and services on the Web. It works because blogs are search engine friendly. When you write 2-3 times a week, you are seeding the Internet with those keywords that will lead back to you when someone is looking for information.
We cover this in our 4-week mentoring program The Law of Action 2.0, Attract Clients and Build a Money-Making Business on the 'Net, starting July 1. Learn about it here: www.actandattract.com.
We did a preview call called The 5 Traps of Internet Marketing that Can Derail Your Business. You can listen to the audio tape here and find out how you can access several bonus reports that can help save you time and money.

"Feeling one's pain" and better yet providing solutions to it is a very useful technique for gaining more and more leads! One thing that's also helpful is to provide a free report people can request (and hence, get on a followup autoresponder) too.
I've had great success with that.
Enjoy, Barbara

Barbara, we would state that even stronger: providing a compelling free report is a must-do next step.
Or, get readers to come to a free teleseminar. Denise and I offered weekly interviews with experts for two years when we were building up our business. This provided us with great content for blog posts, and educated and entertained everybody!
Thanks for stopping by!

As long as making money with blog is concerned, it doesn't matter actually whether you enjoy or not. The way generating money from blogging is the same regardless of whether you enjoy blogging or painfully doing.
