I'm continuing my education with video and have added a Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision to my arsenal. As you can see from the video tip below, I'm still a novice at this video thing, especially when it comes to editing! Here's my business blogging tip for today: why you need to put your name on your business blog.

I couldn't watch the video, it says "We're sorry, this video is no longer available". Found out it's an issue with Firefox and probably NoScript, a plugin I run to keep me safe.
On the point of putting your name on your blog though, it's one thing I've done from the very beginning, since my name's in the URL. I have ample proof that it's done a lot for my career and in fact has been directly responsible for my getting several jobs. And will probably be responsible for my next career move as well.
I meet clients and other security professionals who know me from my writing podcasting, some of whom treat me like an old friend from the very first meeting. It's gratifying and sometimes a little scary. But it never would have happened if I was an anonymous blogger.
Own your work. Put you're name on it. If you're afraid to do that, you probably shouldn't be posting it anyways.

Hi Denise. Thanks for the great video example. Congrats on starting something new. I agree that having your name on the posts is very important. You also reminded me that I still need to put a contact form/contact info on my blog. I've added lots to it, but not that yet. My blog carries my name. So, for good or bad, all the world knows who is writing the posts. Makes me accountable and encourages me to put forth my best effort.

Following on Cindy's comment -- YES! If you're in business you better have contact info on your blog. Otherwise how else are all those prospective clients going to be able to get hold of you? Don't make them work.

Been an avid reader of your blog and recommend it to others. If you are serious about learning more about video, you can check out my site (www.VidPodcaster.com).
We have a free podcast on subject as well as a book you may find useful called Producing Video Podcasts from Focal Press. Chapter 1 is free on the site for download.
