One of our beloved clients conferred with us last week about their blog: why aren't we getting more traffic, more comments, more business?
I asked about their Site Meter stats. After we did a tour of their stats, they had a better understanding of where they needed to put their efforts.
You have to look at the facts. Where are visitors coming from? What keywords pull in the most? What can you write about that will attract the most interest based on what people are looking at now?
This client was actually doing quite well with their number of visitors, compared to other blogs in their field. But they were comparing themselves to blogs at the next level and felt they should be doing better. Which is a good attitude to have if you want to grow.
But wishing doesn't do anything to help you grow. Looking at the facts, and tracking the growth as you move forward with a marketing plan or project is the smart way to build success.

Great thoughts about how to manage blogging. I have been blogging for a month now, I guess you talked some sense into me. I'll remember what you said about "looking at the facts and see keywords attract people most." Thanks.
