Not all fashion is attractive, as this little dog surely must know. That's why you shouldn't just jump on the Widget-of-the-Month bandwagon and start putting things on your blog that don't "go together."
Many professionals don't think about how important their blog design actually is. Remember Malcolm Gladwell's book, Blink? That's right, it applies to your blog as well. First time visitors to your blog will size it up in seconds, and if your blog doesn't look like a good fit for them, they move on...they are outta-there.
The second reason you need to spend time on your blog design is trust. Everything, including the little things, go into whether or not a visitor feels like they can trust you as an author and business owner.
I'm guessing 9 out of 10 business professionals haven't a clue what to keep on their blog, what to eliminate, or how to arrange content on their blogs. Why would they, unless they were marketers or graphic designers with a flair for marketing?
That's why you should join The Blog Squad next Tuesday February 5, 2008 as we kick off our 4-week teleseminar:
Better Business Blogging: Boost Your Business Blog for Better Results
…how to use the 4-point CODA system to take your blog to the next level
We'll cover design in the very first session - because that's a very big reason people will stay and read your blog and subscribe. For information and registration visit www.boostyourbusinessblog.com.
