Thanks to client Stephanie Calahan of Productive and Organized, I found and implemented yet another new feature on TypePad.
You can now set up links to ALL your social networking sites/profiles. Once you set it up, you have a TypeList that has links to your accounts on Facebook, MySpace, StumbleUpon, Digg, etc., etc. I've set it up on my About page which you can see on the left sidebar.
It's really, really simple to do:
To link up your social accounts, go to the Control Panel tab, then click on Profile.
Under your picture, you will see a section that says "Your Other Accounts" (see below).
Simply click on Add an Account and submit your user id for that particular account. There is a drop down box for you to choose from dozens of social networking sites.
After you have your list of accounts set up, then you need to make sure it shows up on your blog.
Go to the Design tab for your blog. Click on Select Content. Under "Built in Modules", scroll to "Other Accounts" and click on the link to configure your list, i.e., rename it so it makes sense to your readers ("Other Accounts" is vague).
Make sure you put a check mark next to the Other Accounts module.
Next go to Order Content under the Design tab and move the module to where you want it on your sidebar.
Don't forget to click the save button!

Have you, or any of your readers, added a link to your TypePad blog from http://www.multiple.com ? I thought this would be a good way to give my posts some extra circulation. However, shortly after I set it up, I was surprised to find that Multiple.com was displaying posts that I had set on TypePad to be published several days later rather than just the already published posts. I checked Multiple.com again today and stopped it from copying any posts from my TypePad blog (I hope).
Cheers,
Lois
