Hot on the heels of my last post about getting more eyeballs on your blog, I read a post by Darren Rowse about using StumbleUpon to get noticed by other bloggers.
Rowse gives several examples about how he's attracted new readers when 1) he has "stumbled" a post and 2) when someone else has "stumbled" one of his posts.
I'm not an expert at StumbleUpon and usually forget to stumble anything, but there a lot of folks who swear by it for getting new readers. If you want to jump start some stumbling, you can also advertise your blog with StumbleUpon and it will be shown to people when they are randomly stumbling along.

I keep forgetting to stumble posts too, and do get some traffice from stumbleupon. Most of the time I don't really see the point in voting for a page when it's on a popular site, as I feel it's got so many votes already that mine won't count for much.

Great suggestion! I signed up and now it's 1:20 a.m. and I'm hooked. Seems like a great way to increase traffic, and it's fascinating! Thanks

Excellent advice. Paying attention to overlooked marketing opportunities like SU is what can make all the difference in becoming an "A-Lister"!

StumbleUpon is one of my favourite sites - it's so easy to use once you get into it, and it soon becomes automatic to click 'I like it' when you read something that you enjoy.
It's worth taking the time (20 seconds?) to write a one line review - helps your stumbles to stand out, helps to build your online profile, and may draw the attention of the person who wrote the post.
BTW there's an application you can use to link your stumbles onto your Facebook account too, so people can get an idea of the kind of thing you're into.
