This post is for all you people with blogs that struggle with writing content. I got news for you: No more complaining! It's getting easier to find ways to keep your blog lively with digital photos.
The two gals (JoJami Tyler and Deborah Boland) who write the Fabulous After 40 blog show you how you can turn an afternoon shopping into a great blog post. I don't know how much money this cost them, cuz I'll bet they bought a few things themselves in Big Apple Fashion Heaven. But they certainly had fun with this blog post.
They simply stopped attractive women who seemed to fit their category and took photos and a brief interview. Digital cameras are small, easy to use, and blogging software uploads and sizes photos with a click of the mouse.
Plus, this is a traffic builder. Think about it: these women will check out the blog and go tell their friends!
Now you may be asking yourself, "How can I use photos in my business blog - which isn't about anything fabulous like shopping or pretty women?"
And I say, use your imagination! A picture is worth a thousand words and can work to show your readers details of your business that you could never explain in text. Since blogging is about connecting to readers, how can you get out and interview a few of your clients/customers/prospects?

Blogs with many photos are more popular. Probably people are just too lazy to read a lot.

I don't think it's laziness so much as too busy, too much in a hurry.

Thanks for telling your readers about using photos to make a blog post. We absolutely had a blast taking pictures of women on the street. Everyone we asked to take their photo, was so thrilled and shocked to be asked! We ended up making tons of new friends and everyone wanted to know when and where it was going to be posted.
Once we had the photos, the article just wrote itself! Fun, and easy!

After I wrote this post, I suddenly remembered a '15-seconds-of-fame' incident from my distant past:
One day I was walking down Madison Avenue feeling quite chic (barely in my 40's then), when a photographer from the NYTimes took my picture! It was on the front page of the lifestyles section of the Sunday times with a caption something like:
"Here's how you can combine casual jeans and a fabulous scarf for a million dollar look!"
Or some such nonsense...it made my day and impressed my boyfriend upon whose arm I was dangling...!
The point is, fashionable or not, people love to be recognized for their expertise, or their wisdom, or whatever you write on your blog about...
...and taking photos is just plain fun!
