BlogRush Doesn't Deliver for Me

I have removed BlogRush from my blogs. It just wasn't working for me. I had tons of syndication credits but no one was clicking through to my blog posts.

Either I have the most boring blogs, which is possible, or the blogs that are syndicating my content don't have the widget in a prominent place so readers don't see the headlines.

In any case, for the return, it isn't worth the space in my blog sidebars. I know others have had a much better experience and I'm glad for that. Some traffic tactics work better than others and it's all dependent on your blog and your audience.

I've not seen a big return on my site either even though the widget is above the fold.

I've been thinking of removing BlogRush as well.

Even though my widget is placed above the fold, it makes me wonder if anyone else's is placed above the fold to send traffic my way. I can't control where the other people place their widget.

Everyone else is getting traffic, but me. :-)

Ditto on my end, Denise. Not only wasn't I getting additional traffic but many of the posts and blogs that showed up in the widget were just not of the caliber I wanted for my readers. I scrapped it and feel a sense of relief. It's nice to have a clean sidebar again with just the things that work for me.

I'm also relieved to read that others are not falling over backwards over Blogrush -- it sounded good idea in theory... well I tried convincing myself it must be good. But quite honestly I never really knew what the dashboard was telling me except that what I was doing was obviously not good. I couldn't understand what the credits were all about... When I chose the category to go on my blog it didn't fit that well and I can't change the category. I thought you could but I can't find out how to do it.

I just posed some questions about BlogRush a couple of days ago myself, on my own blog.

I've seen an increase in traffic, but then I had changed out my permalink structure about the same time as I added the BlogRush widget, so who knows?

I haven't ended my experiment, but I wonder daily if I will get one of those "you are uninvited" letters from them that so many folks have reported.

For what it's worth, you have a great blog going here!
