In our Better Business Blogging class yesterday, we were talking about outreach: how to connect with other bloggers to drive more traffic. This includes commenting on blogs and how you respond on your own blog to comments.
One of the features NOT on TypePad blogs is the ability to subscribe to comments so you can follow a particular conversation and get notified when someone leaves a comment to something you commented on. Patsi found several sites that allow you to add some code or plug-in so your readers can track comments:
- Commentful: www.commentful.com - works with Mozilla Firefox browser via a Firefox extension
- co.mments: http://co.mments.com - load a bookmarklet into IE, Safari, or Firefox.
- coComment: www.cocomment.com - least amount of effort to track your blogging conversations. Create a free account and download a Firefox extension.
I was checking these systems out last night and discovered you can add co.mments.com as a feedflare through Feedburner. A while back I created a video on how to add feedflares. You can watch it and then add the co.mments.com flare to your TypePad blog.
Rather than make you search through the 100+ flares you can add to your blog, here is the URL you will need to add when you're at the Feedflare page which is under the "Optimize" tab: http://co.mments.com/feed-flare.xml
You'll see you can now track comments on this blog as well as on Biz Tips Blog.
