In our Better Business Blogging class yesterday, we discussed blog design and usability. A lot of what we covered is common sense, yet we still run across blogs that don't adhere to good design or make it easy for their readers to consume the information and navigate the content.
In my research, to make sure I didn't miss any vital information, I came across a couple of good lists of usability tips:
Weblog Usability: The Top Ten Design Mistakes (2005 and still relevant)
Thirteen Blog Clichés (we discuss all these points with our clients and my personal pet peeve is #1 - the useless calendar widget)
Whether you're a new or a veteran blogger, it's worth the review to get started right or tweak your blog to take it to the next level.
