Is your website home page traffic going south? Many professionals find they get more traffic to their blog pages than to their website.
The recent addition of Typepad pages has sparked some innovative uses of blogging platforms for landing pages and even 5-page websites. Now there's a discussion going on about the demise of static Web home pages altogether as professionals look at their web traffic and compare it to their blog traffic.

Coincidently, for the past year I've been moaning about my poor Customized Newsletter Services web traffic. One day I suddenly woke up with a bright idea: kill my website and build a new one using Typepad blog pages. Why not? I blogged about it here.

It's hard to optimize your web pages for good search when you're not a techie. But with a blog, somehow it's easy to build traffic. It has to do with the blogging software and the fact that search engines love blogs.

The idea is simple; every page on the Internet is now potentially a landing page — especially search-engine friendly blog pages.
That idea is starting to generate some heavy, Russian-novel-level brooding in the marketing world, and it’s certainly fueled an explosion in landing-page specialty firms.

Search Engines Love Blogs
Blogs are suddenly outranking the home pages of the very Web sites they’re supposedly subservient to. Instead of a nice, neat flow of prospects — a flow that starts at the home page and ends up in the sales department’s bonus checks — prospects are making first contact with a company via individual blog entries.
