I started blogging in February of 2006- I had been prospecting for new business for several months and got tired of prospects going radio silent on me and never responding. My blog gave me an outlet to express myself, build a community, channel my expertise and find a captive audience who was willing to listen. I've been blogging ever since and I'm hooked.

You two are always my inspiration.

I started blogging two Decembers ago. I wanted to experiment with blogging as I'm an old Internet guy, and I wanted to reposition myself as a business guy with technical skills instead of a mere propellor head. Success on both counts!

I've been reading and commenting on blogs for years but have only been blogging myself for a few months. I started a personal blog to learn the technical aspects of blogging before launching a blog for our company. The personal blog is just for fun and to reach out and make connections with new people. Our company blog is a vehicle for sharing the wealth of information I've learned in the blogosphere with colleagues and clients.

I started blogging September 2004 and was playing around with it, but I lost interest for a long while. In August of this year, after attending SES San Jose, I started blogging for real. I really wanted to use it as an outlet for my rantings , like a journal of thoughts and ideas. I have gotten a decent following and really have enjoyed all of it. I have been getting visitors from all over and have a nice community building.

I appreciate the Blog Squad, you really are a great resource for bloggers at all levels. I appreciate feedback, even when they think I am wrong, feel free to visit and comment.

I started blogging two years ago, taking an five year old online newletter into a blog format. I am glad I made the jump, I like the ease of posting and how much my voice comes through.

It's a community builder. My readership has increased by 75%, search engines pick up the material. I am building the platform for the book, and well it's just rolling along.

And I have met some very nice people like Patsi and Denise. **smile**

I began blogging in August. It's time to re-focus my business and I decided to use a blog to "see" what I was thinking about regarding workplaces and organizations. I haven't done anything purposeful yet as far as a deliberate subscription effort, as the marketing/graphics folks and I are meeting tomorrow to finalize the new niche and focus.

The blogosphere rocks! Without attempting to gather a following it has actually happened to a small degree. I can tell what interests people the most form SiteMeter and other sources; the posts are forming the basis of one or more books as well as new speeches and coaching/training materials.

How did I get to a new place with the coaching business (30 years!)? I signed up for Blog to Book, it started me writing, and I read your posts every day.

Keep going--what you are doing is changing lives in ways that weren't imaginable just a few years ago.

I started blogging in the 2003 when I realized that it was a good way to remind my consulting clients I was there. Back then there weren't a lot of blogging sites that I was aware of, so I just posted regular articles on my site. Every time I blogged, I also manually sent an email with a link to all of my colleagues (maybe 1000 or so) to remind them that I was out there. The reminders got me more business than the blogs themselves, which people rarely read. It was more like, "Oh, Ryan's still out there writing articles...hmm...I should give him a call." I only did one article a month back then, but I was never out of sight, out of mind.
