TypePad Upgrades Benefit Bloggers

I'm continually amazed at the upgrades I discover in my TypePad blog account.  I was setting up a blog for a new client and going through all the configuration options.  This is often something bloggers forget to look at after doing their initial set up.

What I discovered are a couple of new features integrated in your TypePad blog:

  1. You can now create or link your Feedburner account to your TypePad blog so that becomes the default feed for your blog.  From TypePad: FeedBurner is a feed management provider that can help you optimize your feed, publicize your blog, analyze traffic to your feed and even make money from your feed.  You do this through the Configuration tab and then click on Feeds.
  2. Under the Publicity Tab in Configuration, I discovered that TypePad now automatically alerts Technorati, Google and Feedburner (if your Feedburner account is connected) when you post on your blog.  This is good news since these are the heavyweights in blog search and many of the other blog directories get their updates via Technorati and Google.
  3. You can also set up a Feedblitz account through TypePad widgets.  You know we recommend that you have Feedblitz email service on your blog so readers can get updates.  TypePad is making it easier and easier to get your blog optimized all in one place.

Note:  Phil Hollows is our Guest Expert on Conversations with Experts on August 30.  Phil is the developer and CEO of Feedblitz and he's got a lot of great ideas about how to use blogs and email to maximum effect.  Bloggers should not miss this Conversation.
