UPDATE: If you missed this Conversation, you can order the audio program for only $9.95. The content is exceptional and highly recommended for all service professionals and small business owners.
Smart Partnering expert Kare Anderson was our featured expert on Conversations with Experts Wednesday and presented many good ideas for finding the right partnership opportunity for your business or practice.
She says to focus on your clients first. Who else serves your target audience? If your goal is to generate more visibility and value to your prospects, find out specifically who they are, where can they be found, and who else is serving them.
Mutual benefits for partnerships include fulfilling these 3 functions better:
1. Who has the content or products?
2. Who has the distribution channels, knows how to get the product to the clients
3. Who has the backend functions covered and make it possible to run the business?
Kare generously offers free copies of her ebook SmartPartnering to the first 10 people to respond on this blog about which part of the teleseries conversation was the most helpful and had the most value to you and your business. She wants feedback from our listeners so she can continually improve her presentations.
Kare emphasizes the value of knowing your audience and clients well; she says writing on a blog is one of the best ways to do this. So if you were on the call last night, and would like to share with us what you found valuable about the ideas she shared, just click the comment link below and share.

Hi Kare - good to hear you again and to see I'm in the right place with the Blogsquad! I had an idea of partnering on a new book with someone who would benefit, too and I especially like your suggestions of finding a bricks 'n mortar biz since we both offer services from a home office. Can't wait to talk it over more when I see her tomorrow.
LOTS of new ideas about how to partner - AND an idea for my blog, too.
Thanks again, Kare.

One of the things that stuck out for me was the concept of You, Us, Me.
Address *their* interest first.
Then, how it relates to what we have in common.
And then back to me.
Very powerful. Thanks, Kare.

I am blushing. Thank you for your very specific comments as they are so helpful to me as I hone my message and for resourceful and generous Patsi and Denise who put so much work into making this series happen.
Also, I am deeply touched that 38 of you have also signed up for my Say it Better newsletter, mentioning the Build a Better Blog conversation.
I am buying their book in advance of my building my next two intertwined blogs on Say it Better + SmartPartner and strongly recommend that you do too. Re that notion, see my post (do URLs show on here.. I forgot?):

In her simple way of presenting the attitude you should approach a possible partner, where you are aware of their benefits first; I developed an approach to market my book and seminar through helping doctor's offices assist people who wait a long time for service. The simple approach would help patients prepare for the doctors visit and promote my program at the same time. The beautiful thing is that this approach is almost free and serves everyone involved, including me. I once heard a neat quote; "the nature of peace is that both sides win". I think that happens in smart partnerships. Thanks, Marc Lerner http://lifeskillsinc.com
