As a follow-up to my most recent post on the good and bad about blogging when you are a member of a corporation, Dee McCrorey of The Corporate Entrepreneur Blog asked me for a quote she could use in an article about said topic. Here's what I say:
There are untold benefits for the corporate person to start writing on a blog. Untold, because it all depends on how well you write, your voice, your personality, and your goals. And you never know how it will turn out.
If you are any good at all, you will gain respect and trust with both customers and those within the corporation at all levels. In fact, there is no better method for you to gain attention, be heard and be recognized.
Be sure you share from the heart as well as the head, because nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care. May be a trite phrase, but true for blogging.
Of course, if you are an employee, use your head and blog wisely, blog smart.
